Hello, I was looking for a dog park to help socialize my 7month old puppy would you know the best time to go to this dog park?, and is it popular? Thank you.
Pit Bulls in Prince George's County http://www.pgspca.org/content/index.php?pid=27
Pit Bulls born after February 3, 1997, are illegal and must be removed from the County.
For Pit Bulls owned prior to February 3, 1997, owners must provide written proof of ownership which could include rabies certificate, veterinarian bill, or other similar documentation. Pit Bulls owned prior to February 3, 1997, must be maintained within a building or kennel at all times. When outside, Pit Bulls must be kept under control of an adult and secured by an unbreakable or unseverable leash. Violations of the Pit Bull Law will result in fines up to $1,000 or a sentence of not more than six months imprisonment. (See Licensing above for more information.)
We were excited when we found out that Laurel had a dog park. We loaded up the pooches and off we went. Must have gotten there at a busy time. No parking to be found. It looked like there were only 10 parking spaces for the entire dog park. Not very ideal or well thought out by the city. Finally decide to park in front of someone's house on the side street. Once inside the dog park we were greated by a pit bull. We thought that breed was outlawed in PG county. He looked friendly enough but you never know with that breed. Anyway, let the dogs off leash to run around. They seemed to have a good time. The not so clean part of the visit only showed itself to us once we returned home...fleas. We've never had fleas on our dogs...never. One trip to the dog park and we get them. This was the only visit to that dog park we will make. Illegal dogs and fleas...enough to keep us away for good. Looks like the city of Laurel could have done a better job of planning for the park and do a better job of managing it. We'll be looking for another dog park to go to from now on.
What time does everybody go to the dog park?
See ya Easter Morning!
how does 930am sound?

This park is great. Nice small and large enclosers for dogs to run and play. Trees for shade, bushes, water fountains, and benches...what more could u want? My pup Guinness approves, just wish we could get more dogs going. Come check it out!!!
Great Space for large and small dogs. Water and waste pickup bags are available. Grass and shade makes this place nice.
